Welcome to Byfield Bowls Club
Founded in 1985, Byfield B.C. is a friendly outdoor lawn bowls club in the village of Byfield in South Northamptonshire, between the towns of Daventry and Banbury in Oxfordshire. We have a membership of over 40.
We are a forward-looking club with a modern attitude to the game. We welcome players of all ages and abilities, and offer a friendly environment in which to learn, play and enjoy the game, recreationally or competitively.
Each season, mainly on Tuesday evenings and at the weekend, the club plays over 60 fixtures against other clubs throughout South Northamptonshire, North Oxfordshire and South Warwickshire.
Members also contest a full programme of men's, ladies and mixed club competitions, as well as participating in annual County and National competitions and leagues. The club is affiliated to Bowls Northamptonshire and Bowls England.
On Friday evenings during the outdoor season (late April to late September), we run practice sessions for established bowlers and coaching sessions for those who are new to the game.
Once the outdoor season has ended, activities move indoors. Byfield Short Mat club has around 30 members and meets regularly on Friday afternoons.
Set within picturesque grounds, the club's excellent facilities include a comfortable modern two-storey clubhouse, an excellent six-rink green (Grade A), a well-stocked bar, catering facilities and an adjacent car park.
Off the green, the club hosts a full calendar of other activities and social events including a gala, quiz nights, formal dinners, informal curry evenings and barbecues.
Whether a visitor or someone looking for a new club, or wanting to try bowls for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you.
